How it works
Bid. Sell. Watch. Simple.
GM Vault is the marketplace built only for GM collector vehicles. Here's exactly how buying, selling, and the watchlist work.
Bidding on an auction
- Sign in and add a payment card on file in your account.
- Open any live auction and place your bid (minimum $500 increments).
- We authorize a 5% buyer's premium hold on your card. If you're outbid, it's released automatically. If you win, we charge it — this is GM Vault's fee, not a deposit toward the car.
- When the auction ends, the highest bid above reserve wins. Buyer and seller exchange contact info and the buyer pays the seller 100% of the sale price directly.
Bid Goes On (didn't sell? Buy it now.)
If an auction ends without meeting the seller's reserve, the car moves into Bid Goes On for 7 days.
- Listed at the seller's reserve price as Buy It Now.
- The seller can lower the price anytime during the 7 days.
- First buyer to hit Buy It Now wins. Same 5% buyer's premium to GM Vault, full sale price paid directly to the seller.
- After 7 days, the listing closes if unsold.
Watchlist + 30-min SMS alerts
Tap the heart on any auction to save it. Then add your phone number in your account.
- When a watched auction is 30 minutes from closing, we text you the current bid and a direct link.
- Never miss the last sniping window on a car you care about.
- One alert per auction. Manage your watchlist anytime.
Selling your GM
Two ways to sell — both reviewed by a Vault specialist within 48 hours.
Auction
$199 listing fee
7-day live auction. You set the reserve. If sold, the buyer pays you the full sale price directly — GM Vault collects its 5% buyer's premium separately from the buyer.
